My favorite tagline:

“I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.” E.B. White
If White had only lived long enough to get a computer, he might never have written this. Heck, I start saving the world while I’m still in my t-shirt and flannel sleep pants. By my second cup of tea, several species of endangered animals are singing my praises and chomping down on Siberian Tiger chow or Funky Feast for primates. Over my signature, letters are winging their way to newspapers all over the globe with impassioned pleas to stop the war, outlaw seal hunts, and end gender discrimination.

Emails go whizzing out of my outbox and into the inbox of people who will be voting on issues I care about: sustainable agriculture, clean water and air, rules to regulate privacy panels in public restrooms. (Don’t you hate the ones with the big gap between the door and the frame? Especially when you only notice it AFTER you’ve pulled your support briefs down over your belly flab and someone’s 5 yr old has his eyeball squashed up against the gap and is reporting back to everyone else in the restroom in a voice loud enough to be heard throughout the first seven booths outside in the restaurant, the booths you’ll have to pass on your way back to your table, where you’ve already eaten too much and ordered dessert and don’t think THAT won’t be commented on when he passes your table. But, like I always say, I’m a willow; I can bend.)

Sorry, got a little off track there.
Of course, clicking by itself isn’t going to save the world. Neither are letters or emails or even donating to worthy causes. That’s why, sometimes I actually get dressed, go out into the world and knock on doors to get out the vote or stand across from the courthouse protesting an unethical, illegal, illogical war that I didn’t vote for and don’t want. It’s not fun, but it’s necessary. Unfortunately, unlike clicking to donate and signing petitions online, I can’t play games or read my email while I’m doing it. Hmm, someone needs to work on that. Maybe I could start a petition.

I’ll get right on it, as soon as I finish this game of Penguin Rummy. But in the meantime, please click on the link on the left where it says, “Save the World”. Then bookmark the link and click on it first thing everyday. After you’ve done that, you can go have fun with a clear conscience. See you at Pogo.
